For students


General information

Student shall complete all stipulated compulsory courses (to gain 75 credits in total) and enrol in compulsory optional subjects to achieve at least 45 credits. Student must complete the compulsory courses at one of the partner universities according to his/her own choice. In the first year of study student usually completes compulsory optional courses at the university where he/she is enrolled in the graduate program and in the second year at the university that guarantees the chosen course.

Courses are organized as full-time study at the university that guarantees them. If they are not offered at the university, then they are usually taught in blocks under the teachers’ exchange stay. In the first year courses are taught in French (Le Mans) and Czech (Ostrava), for those who are not familiar with either language, the courses will be given in English. Courses in the second year are taught in English only.

Study is completed by passing the final examination before a joint Czech-French examination board. The students register for the examination at one of the participating university according to their choice. Final examination consists of four parts. Two of them (Defence of thesis and Modelling and simulations) are compulsory. The student chooses remaining two parts of the final examination according to his/her specialization. Diploma thesis summarizes the results obtained within the independent research projects solved during the course of the study and it usually consists of approximately 60-80 pages. It is written in English. All parts of the final exam are also held in English language.
